Going live
- Open Go Live from the composer.
- Set a title, choose your camera and microphone, and start.
- Viewer count and elapsed time update while you broadcast.
- End the stream yourself, or let it end at the cap.
Chat and reactions
- Live chat messages are up to 500 characters.
- Late joiners are backfilled with the most recent 50 messages.
- Six reaction emoji are available: heart, fire, applause, laughing, surprise and celebration.
Super Chats
Viewers can pay to highlight and pin a message in your stream, from $3 to $500, with a message of up to 200 characters. Larger amounts get a warmer card colour and a longer pin. Surf takes the standard 20 percent platform fee and the rest is yours. See Monetization.
If a broadcast loses its connection for around three minutes, it is ended automatically so it does not sit in the Live rail as a dead stream.
